Who’s Checking on Grandma and Grandad during Covid-19?

In the African American community elders are looked to for knowledge, wisdom, support and guidance. Many times, they serve as the matriarchs of the family and help keep the family intact. What then happens when the matriarchs are told they are one of the most vulnerable populations when it comes to Covid-19 (Coronavirus)? The coronavirus affects many populations and the elderly is one of them. In the African American community, many elders are on fixed income. Some of them live by themselves or in nursing homes. During a time when elders are supposed to be enjoying retirement many are stressed out about the coronavirus. Continue reading
